Under the sandy desert that covers 90% of Libya huge amounts of water hides. The clean fossil water, stored between rocks and sand grains, has likely been there since the last ice age. As Libya suffers severe water shortage means of accessing the water is of high interest. The “Great Manmade River” by some claimed the 8th wonder, is an example. It’s the world’s largest irrigation project with a network of gigantic pipes and aqueducts delivering water from reservoirs deep under Sahara’s sands.
