Otherworldly Sand Dunes: Is this on Earth or Mars?

Are you curious about what sand dunes on Mars look like? Look no further than NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover, which continues to capture stunning images of the red planet’s sandy landscapes.

Mars is a dusty, sandy, and windy planet, making it an ideal location for sand dune and sand ripple formation.

While sand dunes come in various shapes and sizes, well-defined circles are rare on Mars as on Earth.

However, polka dots seem to be a thing on Mars!

Polka-dotted unusual sand dunes imaged by the University of Arizona's HiRise as part of a program to see how frost melts on Mars in late winter.

Titanium test tubes will bring samples of Martian rocks, gravel, and sand back to Earth.

Will they find a microfossil in one of the samples? If yes, there’ll be massive headlines proving life on Mars.

In the meantime – check out a microfossil found on the shore of Lake Eire, USA.

It’s a crinoid fossil dating millions and millions of years back to the Devonian time period. (I was so stunning enough that I just had to send it to a lab and make a piece of jewelry shaped just as it,  seen here: )

There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on Earth. But likely more grains of sand than stars, or?
