Children playing in sand are recognized all over the world. The right to play is a part of the UN children rights. First-hand experience of the impact of humanitarian crisis working with and in distributing funds in Macedonia in 1903 sparked two sisters crusades for ending suffering and for promoting children’s rights. They jointly founded Saving the children foundation, today active in 120 nations, and wrote what later became the basis for the UNCRC, the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.
